A Hope Chest of Light Keeping

Forgiveness…

…is allowing someone to sleep when you want them awake.
…is saying that it will be ok when you aren’t sure if it will.
…is calling and listening to what people have to say when you are embarrassed.
…is making sure that saying “I love you” is the last thing they hear before they leave.
…is giving a second chance. Or a third. Sometimes a fourth.
…is holding out hope that things can be better.
…is remembering why you started in the first place.
…is being humiliated temporarily.
…is loving someone when they hurt you.
…is being able to shelter someone when they make you angry.
…is not being able to eat dinner because you are worried.
…is risking your wellbeing for a moment to make sure theirs is alright.

..is living with love as a verb and not a noun.
